Peter Waddell, the founder and CEO of Big Motoring World was a Barnado’s Boy, born in Glasgow and taken into care when he was just 4 years old. In a real life rags-to-riches story, Mr Waddell turned his life around following a period of homelessness, before establishing Big Motoring World.
The company started as a small 20-car dealership 35 years ago and is today one of the largest and most successful car supermarket operations in the UK, stocking up to 3,000 cars.
As CEO of Big Motoring World, Mr Waddell expanded the group's geographic presence, stock and sales, driving the use of technology to yield greater efficiencies in the vehicle preparation process and stocking policy.
