Pegasus Media Group Ltd, the company behind the CEO Rankings league, launched another international project in 2026: the Nation Prestige Index (NPI).
NPI ranks countries according to the Prestige contributed by their residents and by people who support, admire or feel connected to them. In recognition of their support for a country, users may qualify for one of four NPI ambassadorial titles:
- Honorary Ambassador
- Ambassador
- Ambassador Extraordinary
- Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary
Each level carries its own recognition benefits, while the number of appointments is strictly limited. Across all four levels, each country may have no more than 39 appointed ambassadors at any one time.
The amount of Prestige recorded for a country, together with the number of its current ambassadors, is also used to calculate that country’s Total Prestige Power within the Nation Prestige Index.
Users who qualify for an NPI ambassadorial appointment may add the title to their LinkedIn profile and receive a certificate confirming the appointment. At the higher levels, appointees may also receive a unique, exclusively produced NPI trophy.
How can an ambassadorial title be obtained?
The standard route to an NPI ambassadorial title is available through www.nationprestigeindex.com, where users may contribute Prestige in support of their chosen country and qualify for appointment according to the applicable requirements and the number of available positions.
CEO Rankings nominees now have an additional route. From September 2026 onwards, the winners of selected CEO Rankings awards will also receive an NPI ambassadorial appointment for the country represented by their nomination. The appointment will take effect on the first day of the following month.
Winners of the Performance Excellence Award, Corporate Support Award and People’s Choice Award will be appointed NPI Ambassador.
Winners of CEO of the Year will be appointed NPI Ambassador Extraordinary.
According to the CEO Rankings calendar, the next award to be decided is the People’s Choice Award 2026. In addition to the existing benefits associated with the award, its winner will be appointed NPI Ambassador for the country represented by their CEO Rankings nomination.
